Gopal Speaks at Neptune Senior Center for Older Americans Month

In honor of Older Americans Month, Senator Vin Gopal visited the Neptune Senior Center Thursday, May 24 to speak to local residents about legislative news, upcoming events and ongoing initiatives.

“Here in Legislative District 11, we strive to get out in the community as much as possible to get to know our residents and ensure they know we are here to work for them,” said Senator Vin Gopal.

“I was honored to have been invited by the Neptune Senior Center to serve as a speaker at their lecture breakfast series and grateful for the opportunity to connect with some of our local senior residents.”

During Thursday’s lecture breakfast, Senator Gopal discussed issues central to the local senior population, including affordability, veterans programs, taxes, homelessness and gun safety.

“We touched on some important topics today that I felt would be of interest to this group. I never want my constituents to feel as though they are being kept in the dark about what is happening in their own district. This was a great opportunity to bring residents up to speed on what we have been working on.”
