In response to the passing of Assemblyman Jerry Green, Senator Vin Gopal issued the following statement:

“Assemblyman Jerry Green was a loyal public official who dedicated nearly 40 years of his life to serving the people of New Jersey and was the longest-serving member of the Assembly,” said Senator Vin Gopal.

“Assemblyman Green’s legacy will not soon be forgotten. He has left an indelible impact on this state, its residents and everyone who was fortunate enough to know him. His commitment to enhancing school safety and assisting former prisoners with finding gainful, steady employment speaks to the man he was -- utterly selfless and consistently working to better this state. Assemblyman Green lived a life we should all aspire to and I feel lucky to have served alongside him.
