OCEAN TOWNSHIP, NJ - Senator Vin Gopal, Assemblywoman Margie Donlon, M.D., and Assemblywoman Luanne Peterpaul, Esq. have issued the following statement regarding the 2025 Primary Election date, currently scheduled for June 3, 2025, which coincides with the Jewish holiday of Shavuot:

“We are prepared to jointly introduce legislation to make sure that the 2025 New Jersey Primary Election does not coincide with Shavuot. Freedom of religion and the ability to participate in our democracy are fundamental values, and we are working to find a solution that upholds these principles for all voters. We will ask legislative leadership to post this bill as soon as possible.”
